If you are struggling with your studies, or want to learn something new, I provide bespoke tutoring in person on the Wirral, Liverpool, Cheshire and North Wales, and globally through Skype.
Mathematics
I love mathematics and have been known to wake up in the morning deriving theorems or lie awake at night working out how some speed maths trick works. I can tutor this up to first year university level and hope I can instil some of my enthusiasm.
Physics
My first degree was theoretical physics and I have used it almost continuously since. Whether you are just starting to learn about how science works, or want to know about the stars and galaxies and black holes, I can help you.
Computing/ICT
I’ve spent a considerable part of my career making computers do interesting things. When I was young I programmed in assembly and machine code on a 6502; when I was doing research I wrote code in a number of languages to run on the fastest machines in the world, and was part of a team which won many High Performance Computing Challenges at the annual Supercomputing conference. I can teach you to program, or how computers, the internet and the world wide web work.
Public Speaking/Presentation Skills
I have travelled the world giving workshops, presentations, and lectures for many years, giving talks to groups of all sizes. I can offer one-to-one tuition or small group workshops to build your confidence in speaking in public and give you tips and tricks on making effective presentations.
